Reserving A Puppy Pick & Our Deposits
RESERVING A PUPPY PICK FOR A FUTURE LITTER
Locus Danes is always accepting puppy pick reservations for upcoming and planned litters. Reserving a puppy pick basically puts you in a queue for which puppy # you can choose out of a litter. For example, if there is a litter of ten puppies and you have reserved puppy pick #3, you will have eight puppies to choose from. We make puppy picks at 2 weeks of age. During the first two weeks of the puppies' lives, you will be sent videos and/or photos of the puppies. We do not send videos or pictures of puppies before 2 weeks of age UNLESS you have reserved a puppy pick. Once puppy picks are chosen, the remaining puppies in the litter (if there are any) are open to the pubic for reservation. To reserve a puppy pick, we require a nonrefundable (but transferable for up to one y (1) year) deposit of $500, which will go towards the full amount.
WHAT IF I CAN'T GET THE PUPPY AFTER PUTTING A DEPOSIT DOWN?
As previously mentioned, our deposits are non-refundable BUT transferable. Basically this means that if for whatever reason you cannot purchase a puppy from the litter you put a deposit down on/or the puppy you put a deposit down on, your deposit will be transferred to our next litter. Our deposits are transferable throughout the year the initial deposit was placed. Once a year has passed since you put your deposit down, your deposit no longer exists and you would need to put another deposit down to reserve a puppy or puppy pick.
CAN I GET MY DEPOSIT BACK AFTER PUTTING A DEPOSIT DOWN?
No. All of our deposits are non-refundable, but transferable. Transferable meaning, you can transfer your deposit to any of our upcoming or current litters, you will be transferred to the next available puppy pick for whichever litter you choose. Our deposits are only transferable for a year after the initial deposit was placed.
LOCUS DANES DOES NOT GUARANTEE COLORS, SEXES OR SIZE OF LITTER
There is no way for us to know what colors or sexes will be in a litter. We know what colors can be expected based on parents and color test as well as statistically what colors should be, but we can't guarantee. Recently we did a study on one of our own litters... statistically we expected 25% black puppies, 25% blue puppies, 25% chocolate puppies, and 25% lilac puppies -- we got 6% black puppies, 17% blue puppies, 44% chocolate puppies, and 33% lilac puppies, so that being said, we can't solely rely on statistics. We also do not guarantee the size of the litter, meaning if you are puppy pick #3 and we only have two puppies, you would be moved to a different litter/next available puppy pick. That being said, our litters are typically 8-12 puppies in size. Our smallest litter has been four puppies and our largest litter has been eighteen puppies! Finally, we do not guarantee that a breeding will be successful; for the most part, our breedings do take, but if on the off-chance a breeding does not take, you will be moved to an upcoming litter of your choice and to the next available puppy pick on that litter. Please note: it is possible that breeding pairs will change based on current circumstances. We do try to make sure we stick with our planned breedings, but it is not always possible. That being said, if we change the breeding pair that you have a puppy pick reserved for, your deposit is still nonrefundable.
HOW MUCH IS THE DEPOSIT?
Our deposits are $500 and go towards the full $2,300 balance.
